You are currently living through World War Three, the first global hybrid war, pitting oligarchic authoritarians and organized crime against crippled democratic states and institutions that have been eaten away from within. If we’re to take a passing glance at Ukraine, the most recent testing ground for hybrid war, it’s a safe bet to say our grid and communications infrastructure will be attacked electronically at a critical moment to throw the U.S. into chaos and paranoia for a few days. Please don’t panic when/if it happens as that is one of the objectives of an infrastructure attack. Keep food/water on hand and be friends with your neighbors.
In the meantime, ask yourself (and your elected representatives) why did the President eliminate the post of cyber security coordinator in May of 2018? Why has he vilified the very intelligence and law enforcement institutions who are tasked with defending us from this threat?
